Mattie works by day as a set dresser and model maker for stop-motion animation studios, including but not limited to Laika Entertainment, the studio behind films such as The Boxtrolls and Kubo. At most other times she can be found at her home studio creating original jewelry designs and drawing vast seascapes, environments and creatures. Born and raised on the coast of Maine, she attended Lewis and Clark College and University of Maine at Farmington, graduating in 2007 with a BFA in Creative Writing: Fiction. She has lived in Portland, OR for the last decade.
